It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

5.0

When Piper's step father decides she needs to grow up after she is arrested following a party she has thrown, she thinks it is a joke. She has lived a life of luxury and privilege, never questioned or worried about where money comes from and never had to "work". Her step father cuts her off and sends Piper and her sister Hannah to run her father's bar in a small fishing village to learn about responsibilities and real life. The moment she arrives she meets Brendan, who immediately judges her and thinks she will be back home within a week.
The town is so small and they cannot help but keep meeting up, yes they are total opposites but they cannot deny the attraction that is simmering between them both.

I am annoyed at myself that I did not read this sooner. I even nearly unhauled this without reading!
As a huge Schitts Creek fan this book hit all the right spots for me, I absolute adored It Happened One Summer.
Piper was so funny but I loved watching her learn more about the real world and also share her insecurities with Brendan. Brendan was the perfect MMC, when he learnt more about Piper he was so protective and did not like the way she thought about herself and wanted her to realise her worth. Their relationship was perfect to me and the spicy scenes were 10/10.

I have absolutely no notes about this book, I simply adored it. It had me laughing, crying, stressed and smiling and I cannot find any faults.
