The Silencer by R.C. Boldt
5.0
There’s a Dear Reader warning that you will want to pay attention to.
If you like good suspense with your romance, which I considered being secondary, then this may be the book for you. I took notice of this story right from the words “About the Book”. You’ll be glad this is a work of fiction because you have to hope that what goes on for a lot of the pages is not something that someone has actually had to endure – the magic word is hope.
Kennedy is a strong woman because of the pain she’s had to endure over the years. There are scary moments but also moments of resilience. She shows that women can use their knowledge to their advantage. She’s a woman who could run circles around the men.
This author seems to create characters that I have to think about. It’s like seeing the world through their eyes. But we can almost see her from the inside – it seems like such a lonely place. At times it’s a very sad place. And this is why I think romance takes a back seat in this case. Kennedy’s not quite the super hero but she does fight for justice.
Landon is a champion for the voiceless. Kennedy is the main star of this piece and he’s there to help her shine. Once Landon is thrown into the mix, there is no way that you can try to rush through the book. This is one to take your time and savor each scene as it unfolds. It’s not one that I would try and get through in just one day. And once I finished the ending it left me with a little slice of hope that maybe I’ve got another story to read – hopefully not too far away.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
