Have you ever finished a book and felt it's loss so instantly, that you're not sure you'll ever been the same? This one crept up on me, it's a slow burn, building up to an absolute masterpiece. By the 150 page mark, you're so involved in this somewhat found family narrative, that you feel yourself living it with Stella our main protagonist.
Revelator is a hard book to put into words. It's super weird, but the way it's written makes the weirdness seem so normal within the story. You're enamoured by this family and their relationship with the god in the mountain 'Ghost Daddy'. The whole atmosphere Gregory creates is just something else, it was cosy and stressful at the same time.
If you love weird character driven culty/folklore narratives as much as me, you should definitely grab a copy. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with myself now I've finished it...
