The American Roommate Experiment, by Elena Armas

Did not finish book. Stopped at 56%.
dnf at around 54%

I'm sad. this is one of my most anticipated reads under the romance genre this year, more so after how much I enjoyed the others (Book Lovers by Emily Henry and Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood) but I just can't finish this one.

I didn't feel any chemistry between the couple. Neither of the characters had anything interesting to them. Quite frankly, I can't even say they have any personality whatsoever. There's no plot as well... and I mean nothing. I'm usually okay with character-based stories, I prefer them most of the time actually, but this book just doesn't have anything. Moreover, I didn't like the writing. The events/scenes in the book were so obvious that it was put there and arranged/plan to be there.  I don't really know how to explain it except when reading, I kept thinking things are happening for no reason at all with nothing for me in return to buy into the "cliches" and "dramatics."

The Spanish Love Deception at least had its fun moments. This was terribly boring and dry.
