If I couldn’t make my own mother love me, how could I possibly make anyone else?

i have a soft spot for people(in this case one human and one kraken) with heavy baggage figuring out how to make said baggage feel lighter while falling in love. this book goes into some pretty heavy shit that you wouldn’t expect for a “monster fucker” type novel. the way the author handles losing a partner/grief and also abuse from a parent was done really well; and while it’s a big part of the book the two mcs still have other key personality traits yk? like it’s not all sad. lina as a fmc is super fucking hilarious actually
“Stop what?” She takes a step closer to me. “I’m not doing anything.” “Yes, you are, and I don’t like it.” “You don’t have to be scared of me, King Kraken. I don’t even like sushi.” My brain skips.

she’s winning the idgaf war! only bad thing about this book is that it isn’t longer. but it’s so good i won’t even take a star off for that <3
