Batgirl, Vol. 2: Knightfall Descends by Vicente Cifuentes, Ardian Syaf, Gail Simone, Ed Benes, Alitha Martinez

3.0

It says something that I think the villains are the *least* interesting things about the book. I like Barbara's inner monologue and the scenes with her roommate or Black Canary (or anyone that's not fighting her) have a spark and personality that are absent from all the fight scenes. It doesn't help that so much of this book feels disjointed. Grotesque is a weird kind of one-and-done villain arc, the Night of Owls didn't make any kind of sense (because apparently it's a crossover from the regular Batman books, but why include it here at all if the whole thing is going to be summarily ignored by the rest of the book?), and Knightfall's motivations and backstory didn't make much sense, either. I'll still give the next one a shot, though.
