Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor
Did not finish book. Stopped at 59%.
DNF @ 59%: Maybe I'm becoming a prude in my more mature years (ha!), but when I got to the part about the 12-year-old girl who was "desperate" for her rapist stepfather's "cream" , I just couldn't keep reading. I know this book got a lot of critical praise, but it just was not for me.
This book does go by quite fast, because despite the difficult subject matter, the chapters are all written in one long paragraph and the sentences are loooooong, sometimes pages long, so I felt like the reading pace moved along quickly.
