Brazen in Blue by Rachael Miles

I was drawn into this book by the cover. I grew up with a Newfoundland, so I was instantly intrigued. However, as I read past the cover they mention the dog is not actually a Newfoundland but an overgrown lab? The was my first issue with this book. The second issue was that the hero and heroine were never introduced and/or they never officially met. Maybe I glossed over that part, but I'm pretty sure the author just jumped to them talking in the forest and then running off together.
The only part of the book I actually enjoyed was the middle, when they were on the run. The conflict as well with her cousin and the question of entitlement was lacking and not fully fleshed out. The idea that they had to keep on the run because of Em's jilted fiancée was laughable and totally insane.
I just did not get the whole book. At all. The only parts I liked were the dogs.
