Almost Home: Poems by Madisen Kuhn

dark emotional hopeful lighthearted reflective relaxing sad fast-paced

I devoured this collection and loved essentially every poem and will be buying a copy for my library shelves. It was the perfect balance of emo/nostalgia for myself and experiences of my adolescence and early 20s and resonated deeply. I adored how the author organized the collection and the themes of a home (physically as well as mentally). It was artistically constructed and added to my overall reading experience. She also wove in a lot of nature infused metaphors which I’m always a sucker for in poetry. I can’t wait to read more of her collections especially as she ventures into new life events such as motherhood & her thirties.
