The Wrong Mr. Right by Stephanie Archer

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
Totally picked this up for the cover and the promise of surfer dudes. I adored the romance buildup in the first half of the book, the bookshop and some of the fun homework Hannah got to become a "hot girl". But that brings me straight to my first negative remark: saying out loud (to a guy you crush on no less) you want to become a *hot girl* is just cringe and not fitting for a nearly 30 year old. To be fair, I guess the trope of "shy girl asks the handsome dude to help her get out of her shell and said dude goes all authoritive and demanding" is just not for me. I also cringed every time Wyatt called her bookworm, which was pretty damn often. This in combination with often choppy writing and lots of telling not showing, made it hard to connect with the characters and stay invested. At some point I put it down and just never picked it up again until I sold this book impulsively.
