Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble by Judy Schachner

5.0

One really has to be INTO the mind and persona of Skippyjon Jones, the Siamese kitten who thinks he's a spanish speaking Chihuahua. My mother's love of poetry and unusual characters enables her to have fun with this tongue-twisting series. And believe me, she has a quick tongue. She and my little nephews particularly like this book as Egypt is one of those topics that both kids and adults find fascinating. It's not meant to be historically accurate particularly, but fun to read or listen to someone else read. These books have been especially good for my eldest nephew who is Aspie and does not often veiled much less outright humor. Is a child going to read them by themselves and hit the rhymes perfectly in a language with which they're not familiar? No. That takes adult interaction. :) Have FUN with them and Skippyjon Jones! Everyone's had a child who disobeys, marches to the beat of their own drum, and in need of loving at the end of a hard playing day.
