To me, this read like Murakami's book Hear the Wind Sing, which makes me wonder if he was inspired by this.

But overall it was rather decent! I didn't like the misogyny but this was an interesting read and I'm glad I read it.

Right now, I'm unsure if I want to rate it a 3 star or a 4 star so I'll update this when I do.
