Chasing Cassidy by Opium House Creatives, D. Kelly

4.0

Chasing Cassidy is an emotional book dealing with some very serious and painful issues. The prologue starts the story off with a bang and I couldn't help but want to find out more about Zach and Cassidy. At its heart, this is a story about family, love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Zach is incredibly sweet, loyal, and romantic. He sets the bar for book boyfriends at an almost impossible level. There were times I thought he was actually too sweet. Yes, he really was that perfect. Cassidy's evolution through this book was certainly difficult at times, but it only made the journey that much more touching and emotional. Even though there were times my heart hurt in this book, the ending and epilogue more than made up for it. The secondary characters were also amazing and added some much needed levity during the heavier moments in the book. I'm excited that Rylee is getting her own story and I can't wait to see what happens between her, Nick, and Pete.
