Two Cures for Love: Selected Poems, 1979-2006 by Wendy Cope

emotional lighthearted slow-paced

3.0

bought this book originally because i really like the concept of her poem ‘the orange’, also because most of the poems i read are incredibly depressing and therefore wanted a change. i did enjoy a fair few of her poems, with my favourite being ‘names’, which does have a more darker undertone compared to the rest. only realised after reading the notes pages at the end; that most of the poetry in the book were parodies. however i think i primarily just don’t like more comedic-leaning poetry, particularly ones that rhyme as i find them quite corny.
i will have a reread when i’m in a better mood , but will probably stick to the more depressing poetry anthologies
