This book's main focus is on the very complicated and rigid Archeron sister Nesta.  Giving her space after the war did not help her to recover.  Her inner battles caused her to be so detached and cruel to the point of hurting Elain, the one person she protected the most.  Amren, the one friend who understood her and what she took from the cauldron in the war. Feyre, the sister that never stopped loving her regardless of how awful she treated her throughout their life.  Cassian, the one who fell for her at first sight with all her jagged edges.

When the family finally had enough of Nesta's self-destruction and downward spiral, Feyre, and Rysand give her no choice but to work through her demons, accept her life, and learn how to deal with her fears so she can better function in this new world.  The tough love was a very long road and people get hurt along the way.  A few new characters are introduced that are pivotal to Nesta's healing and growth.

I'm glad that the author dedicated a book to Nesta.  She is such a complicated character, I don't think it could have been explained in just a few short chapters.  Of course, there are a few other elements thrown in with the Lord and Lady, and as exciting as it was, they were not the main focus.  This fierce family will do whatever it takes to save the ones they love.
