If you do not like the pregnancy trope - this is not the book for you. I know that can be a polarizing one. I for one, don't mind it. But the real reason I struggled was the characters, their dialogue, actions, and overall relationship.

Plot:
Penny goes out for a night with her friend and ends up having a one-night stand with her brother's best friend, a hockey star, named Eli. They have a wild, crazy, amazing night. And then she finds out that she is pregnant.

Eli was working through his baggage throughout the story. But unfortunately, I don't feel like Penny developed or matured at all. She was petty and vindictive at times and had to be constantly reminded that Eli had significant emotional trauma. There are so many things that she does that she her lack of compassion for anyone other than herself. And I get it, pregnancy is HARD, and truly going into it not knowing if the dad will stick around is terrifying. But she was sort of hard to love in some moments. There was funny moments as well but it sort of ruined the book for me.
