Nineteen Steps by Millie Bobby Brown

4.0

I really enjoyed this novel, though it was absolutely heartbreaking in a million ways. While the characters weren't super developed, what shone through the narrative was the anxiety and overall tone that the war had on the folks at home during that time. Even though the ending seemed a little too perfect for the overall story, I was happy for the characters in the end. One note I have about this book is that I wish that it was a little more transparent about the fact that Millie Bobby Brown didn't actually write this. She worked in collaboration with a host writer. It's a shame that the writer didn't get her name on the cover or an acknowledgments section.
