I think I'm reading this series out of order. I went straight from the Song of the Lionness to this, and there are suddenly magical creatures running around, so I guess I'll be shuffling my reading order around until I can figure out what order these need to be read in.
It's a cute book, about working hard and having to prove yourself, but I'm furious that Alanna went through all that work so many years ago and women are still treated as lesser when it comes to knighthood. Also, it's totally Alanna who is sending Kell the gifts. I'd also bet that by the end, Kell will be talking to her sparrows. At least, I hope she is.
