Very enjoyable rom-com with utterly loveable characters and great banter (which is the norm for Max Monroe books!)
Former Navy Seal Jake has been a single father since he's wife died in childbirth. His daughter, Chloe, is nearing her college years and worried about her dad being alone - so she enters him into the local paper's "Bachelor Anonymous" dating contest without his knowledge.
Holly is the reporter assigned to run the "Bachelor Anonymous" dating contest and write a series about it. Only, from the very beginning, it's clear that Jake and Holly are drawn to each other.
The easy going vibe between these characters was great - I loved how Jake teased Holly so much, and she gave it right back. This book just made me smile, and I loved that none of the characters (even the minor characters) were "bad' or overly bitchy or anything - it was very refreshing.
Max Monroe books are always good for a mood brightener!
I listened to the audiobook; I preferred the female narrator (the male narrator's female voices were a bit off, IMO.) But overall an enjoyable read and I got used to the male narrator by the end.
