Did not finish book. Stopped at 65%.

Girl I'm 65% of the way through this book and the plot hasn't started. SEVERE middle book syndrome. I got my wife to give me a synopsis and I'm just going to skip to Abhorsen. Also Sam is fucking testing me, I don't know if I was just an aggressively rational teenager or what but I'm real sick of his shit.
