The Round House by Louise Erdrich

4.0

This book is a Bildungsroman in the late 1980s on an Indian Reservation. The kids in the story are all about the same age as I was back then, on that eerily magical age between kid and adulthood.

This is the second book I’ve read this year where Star Trek the Next Generation was referenced, and I like the trend.

This book reminds me of Stephen King coming of age stories. Not quite as dire circumstances, but suitably tragic and violent events occur here, along with supernatural aspects.

The audiobook and the narrator was fantastic.
