Prefer this over The Sight. My biggest problems with David Clement-Davies is he repeats things too often, he procrastinates as he writes and he drags things out FAR too much. In no universe were 500+ pages needed to tell this same story. Cut out all the copy and paste jobs and repetitive strains of thought and we'd be left with 320 or so pages. This novel could have been so much better. Enjoyable but it doesn't DO enough to become a favourite. Also noticed there is far less death and explicit violence in this novel compared to the previous two of a similar vein.
