Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty, Volume 6 by Megumi Morino

5.0

For a 6-volume series, this managed to have no loose ends and a satisfying conclusion on all fronts? That never happens! I am so happy that I picked up this series!

If you don't know, this is the final volume of Shizu and Tetsu's story. Tetsu takes a job housekeeping and finds himself falling for the beautiful mystery of a girl who lives there, Shizu. When his first confession of love goes awry, he learns that Shizu is not just hidden away for no reason. She has a group of ghosts that borrow her body!

This series follows that premise to every emotional high and low. I cried, I was shocked, I was fearful, I smiled, and I laughed. Not one plot thread was lost, and, in actuality, all plot threads ended in a perfect finalizing bow. The storytelling was impressive, the characters lovable, the relationships and emotions realistic beyond belief. The art! The art was gorgeous and subtle and so emotive. It has been a while since I felt so at peace with a manga ending.

Series: 5☆ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Volume: 5☆ ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED OBVIOUSLY
