The Kindness of Strangers by Bernard Taylor

3.0

Shenna puts her blossoming acting career on hold to follow her real dream of studying art in England, where she falls victim to a stalker.

This is a mystery thriller rather than a horror novel. I have enjoyed a few of Taylor's horror novels so I went into this one expecting the same but I quickly realised it isn't. The story is quite slow paced although it does pick up towards the end. His writing style is really easy to get into, there was a good cast of characters, some interesting side storylines to go along with the main story, and some great suspense. I enjoyed the story overall and it was a surprise when the stalker's identity was finally revealed. Unfortunately this wasn't a particularly memorable novel so I would say if you're looking to read some of Taylor's work I would instead recommend Sweetheart, Sweetheart or The Moorstone Sickness.
