Kaalkoot: The Lost Himalayan Secret by S. Venkatesh

5.0

Kaalkoot - the Lost Himalayan secret. I swear I don't have words to praise this book! This is such a gripping story with a perfect concoction of thriller, crime, mystery, fear, action and what not. I knew about samundra manthan and Halahala but I never knew it had another name - Kaalkoot. So basically kaalkoot is the deadliest bioweapon which can destroy millions and billions of creators in just one go. Kaalkoot is the poison which came out from samundra manthan which Lord Shiva consumed to save the demons and deities. The story begins with a scene which took place back in 1944 where Manohar Rai is lying totally exhausted. He had a secret which is to be conveyed to someone - the secret which can bring this world to an end .So he let it out to a young man who after listening to it, left the place. The readers are brought back to the current time. Professor Bani, Steve and Bavdekar are the only three people who have a clue about the horrors of Kaalkoot. After long research they came to know about the secret weapon of the past that could possibly destroy the future and opposite to them are a few people who want to know the secret from them and attack the world, possibly and due to there evil intention, many people's lives are stuck in a catastrophe.
Damini, an intelligence agent is out on a journey with Sameer, whose girlfriend is missing, possible due to these unforeseen situations created, to go on flash back and to find the truth behind Kaalkoot. After a lot of struggle, Sameer does find out the secret hideout. There are thousands of questions that follows- will Sameer be able to meet Ananya, his girlfriend back again? What happened to Damini? What happened to all the others who were in the scene? Does Sameer discover The Lost treasure of Himalaya? And there are many questions. From page 1 till the end, I love everything. Murder, kidnapping, disappearance, action gun fight, and what not. With each turning page my curiosity increased a little more. I really appreciate the author's narrating style which didn't allow me to keep the book down.A perfect book with a good plot, narration and character development I really recommend this book to all thriller lovers.
