Christmas at the Island Hotel by Jenny Colgan

2.0

This is the second time I’ve tried reading a seasonal chick lit book for Christmas, and I’ve come to the conclusion that these just aren’t for me.

There was nothing wrong with this book, but it was just boring and predictable and flat. Colgan gets points for having some diverse characters (like a gay French chef with tattoos) but this was still stocked full of basic stereotypes. But maybe that’s what these books are supposed to be like? And I need to read something else!
