Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown

3.0

Felt very prescriptive, at some points ill-informed, and much different than I was expecting. I hoped “the courage to stand alone” would be guidance for self love, independence, and building boundaries— instead it felt much more kumbaya “let’s be kind to everyone all the time.” Of course, there’s value to that sentiment and I did appreciate some advice given. However, comparing apples to orange (especially on topics like racism, sexism, violence, etc) is just not it.
