This book absolutely RUINED me in the best possible way and also brought me so much pure joy.

I’m not a fantasy reader. I’ve seen this book all over Goodreads and booktube, and I’m a big fan of mysteries, so I wanted to give it a try. I’ve been putting it off since I got the book (mostly out of fear or intimidation because it’s so different than what I usually read).

BOY was I not disappointed. If you enjoy mysteries and want to dabble with fantasy, I recommend this big time. Alex is a heroine that you actually root for, even when she does dumb things. She isn’t perfect, but her character growth is amazing. Darlington. What can I say? They call him the golden boy for a reason.

I can NOT wait for the sequel of this book to come out. I need it in my hands now.
