God this book was a slog. I loved the first few chapters, the middle was rough but the end was amazing. It shouldn’t have taken me being a quarter of the way through to get into it, especially as Poe is one of my all time favourite characters but hey it was alright in the end.
It’s a book. Nothing special but not bad by any means. I do wish there was less focus on the relationship with Zorii and more on the relationship between Poe and his father- especially as there were a lot of loose ends on that front. It also would have been nice to tie it more into the movies/comics/tvshows or the Before the Awakening book.
Read like fanfiction (not in a bad way) but the pacing was the major let down of the book.
