I've never annotated or tabbed a single book in the countless novels I've read over the course of my life, until now. A mere dozen pages in, I scrambled around the house for anything I could flag the pages with. An entire cube of post-it-notes later, I turned the last page (but most certainly not for the last time)...

Outside of the magic (which was not the childish, tacky "magic" you may be thinking, but rather subtle and believable), you've got dual timelines, one - a small town coming of age story about a group of friends and the other - those same friends, now adults, bound by an unbreakable bond, and returning to where the magic all began, one more time...

As a full grown adult who has never(!) stopped believing in magic, this book spoke to my soul.

If you've ever been curious about the possibility of other worlds existing outside of your own, or the ability to actually experience the unexplainable, I implore you to pick this up!
