The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

3.0

You know, despite reading the summary listed here on Goodreads, I really had no idea what I was getting when sitting down to this book. It's a bit more magic realism than I prefer honestly, but that doesn't make it bad or poorly written - just not my thing.

What I DID appreciate, and hence the 3 stars, was the beautiful imagination/childhood depictions of life, playing, introspecting, and my personal favorite, kittens.

Seriously. The way Neil Gaiman described kittens (and there are multiple cats in this book) made my icy heart melt and, despite already have two cats, tempted me to go adopt another one or twenty. In that regard I'm glad that I'm done with this, because otherwise I'm starting my cat-lady career way too early!
