Beach Season by Lisa Jackson, Holly Chamberlin, Cathy Lamb

3.0

It's winter time here and I needed a beach book. This was a good choice, it was four individual stories set at the beach. I enjoyed the first three a lot, June's Lace, Second Chance Sweethearts and Carolina Summer. I'm not even sure which one I liked best. But I didn't care for the fourth story Brass Ring.

I'll focus on the ones I liked :)

June's Lace was about a woman named June who is several years deep into divorce proceedings with a man who won't let the marriage go. She's told herself she will never allow herself to fall in love again. But she has quite the meet cute with a wonderful man at the beach.
I thought the love interest was a great character, I enjoyed June's job and her family was also incredibly entertaining.

Second Chance Sweethearts is about Thea who is hiding out in a beach town hoping her abusive ex husband won't find her. She starts reminiscing about her ex boyfriend, the one that got away, and she miraculously runs into him and gets a second chance.
I loved the cat and the land lady in this story too.

Carolina Summer was probably my favorite.
Ok I may like this one and June's Lace equally.
The beach was the most present in this story too. Jane is running away from a killer and she winds up in a small beach town where the local sheriff quickly becomes a part of her life.
I loved the descriptions of dinners on the deck, watching the sunset at the beach. Such a summery thing to look forward to.

Even without loving the final story, this book was still very enjoyable. And it was only 99 cents on IBooks so you can't possibly resist :)
