A Short History of Humanity: A New History of Old Europe by Johannes Krause, Thomas Trappe
1.0
This isn't a history of anything and has little to do with Old Europe. It is, it seems, more like an attempt at a victory lap by one of the big names in archaeogenetics, pointing out projects he has been involved in without tying them into any sort of larger narrative. The author(s) pander to the reader with blurbs about immigration, race, and climate, but the reader isn't really a big consideration. This is about the author(s).
I have an amateur but dedicated interest in archaeology and anthropology, with currently a particular focus on the pre-history of Europe. This book did not serve that interest at all. I regret buying it.
