I grabbed this from my library to complete a reading bingo prompt for “gem stone” in the title but I got invested in this story more than I thought that I would! Time travel, magical abilities, mysterious motivations, and more abound! Being a YA novel I wasn’t surprised when the FMC annoyed me at points. I don’t see the chemistry yet between the main characters either. Parts of the plot are very predictable, that is another YA thing that I kind of expect sometimes. But the general storyline and lore has me intrigued and I think I’ll be finishing this series.
