I have no personal vendetta or boycott reasons for not reading Young Adult that much anymore. It was my jam in middle school & High school
But after getting a meal of adult fiction
It’s hard to return to that particular genre because of my Age.
Still occasionally I do enjoy reading Young adult along with Middle grade fiction despite not being the intended audience.
The reason I bring this up is My Dearest Darkest is absolutely YALIT.
The story is very Stranger Things meets The Craft with a lot of flirty romance.
The cast is very likable with the exception of one
who is more the side antagonist to the main threat. There’s also a redemptive arc for one of the characters which I like when a person shows a image around their peers that’s nasty and mean, but the author or Character peels back the image to show the how the person is underneath, their situation makes more sense because a character here has dilemma that pushes her to act like a bitch to others.

I always liked the quieter character moments in stories, but there is a big nasty bitch fight at the end of the book as well.
