I’ve had my eyes on this for a while now, and university was the thing that pushed me into reading it. I must be honest, I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. I genuinely assumed I would love this. I don’t know whether it’s because I’m still in a sort of reading slump, or because I didn’t enjoy the story or writing. I will carry on with the series though, and hopefully I will get along better with the next book.
I didn’t think the characters were that fleshed out, and I also thought the plot a little dry. I enjoyed the battle between Harding and Bold, but nothing major came out of it. I was a little disappointed, and sometimes bored by the warden/archdeacon/etc. talk.
