Fight Night by Miriam Toews
Did not finish book.
I was listening to this on audiobook. I got about 1.5 hours in before stopping. At first I liked it, but then it started grating. Narrator was alright, but kind of "sing songy" which got old after a while. There's no plot to the book. How long is this kid expelled/suspended for? Seem like forever. Kind of drags.
Interesting characters, but feels like they are too "quirky". Hard to believe that Swiv is 9. Says that in description of book, but never says in actual book. I was assuming that she was 12 or something.
With no plot, overly saccharine, as in "We're all quirky and have problems. Sometimes we fight, but we're family and we love each other in the end. Isn't that nice?" Reminds me of A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. (Which I finished)
