What happens when your childhood crush kidnaps you to get vengeance on your father for many wrongs real and/or perceived? Venetia is in Scotland for the first time in 16 years, though she's only allowed to be present to witness the King's visit and because the Scottish Scourge is finally dead. Lachlan, also known as the Scourge isn't really dead, he's just pretending to be because Venetia's father sent men who beat him so badly he nearly died and his revenge begins with kidnapping the man's daughter.
Nothing goes as it's supposed to though because the woman he figured would be a spoiled princess is no such thing and keeps catching him off guard even from the first night at the masquerade. I had a lot of fun with this one, kidnappings, a wild carriage ride, one room and so many other fun things happen in this one.
