Where the Devil Don't Go by Onley James

Did not finish book. Stopped at 74%.
I started seeing the demon as the Rock for some reason, and that pretty much ruined the romance for me.

I felt the characters were mundane and commonplace.  I felt like I was reading some petty drama between some random twenty something year olds who had a hookup at the bar. It just didn’t feel very deep or meaningful in any way.

The book is superficially dark because one of the MCs literally just came out of being abused and enslaved for eight years, and he has some obvious issues. But to me it felt dumb. Like shouldn’t he go to therapy or something first? You’re really going to try to deal with eight years worth of PTSD and trauma with some hot sex and a daddy kink? Really? This really yanked me out of rhe book.
It’s dark, but in a cheap way, if that makes sense.

I thought the book was kinky and hot at first, but it got old really fast.  I couldn’t help but notice the pettiness of the drama.
