Meg Cabot made me fall in love with reading so I’m always biased with her books.  This was a nice light rom-com despite touching on darker topics, well written with likeable characters. Personally I’d prefer it didn’t slot in those darker elements (sexual assault for one), as I don’t think it’s relevant to the plot or fitting with the levity, but at least it isn’t lingered on.
