I listened to this after listening to Wild. To compare the two writers would be a huge mistake. This was almost like a diary of hiking the AT. There was very little introspection or emotional depth given in this book. The transitions between sentences were jarring and many of the chapters left you wondering “ what?” While I admire him for hiking the AT, I feel that most folks would not be able to afford to eat out and stay at hotels for most of their trip. I feel a good editor was needed to leave out some passages and add some color to other passages.
