The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz

Did not finish book. Stopped at 43%.

I’m going to move over to the audiobook version, this book isn’t engaging enough for me to sit down and finish. It’s idealistically creative and a very cool concept but I don’t like how it spoon feeds the reader every bit of nuance and lacks any internal conflict. I love the exploration of personhood in animals and what I believe are robots, and the idea of connecting to the earth symbiotically is sooo cool. But none of this is really meaningful given that the story is just about Big Bad Corp pulling  shenanigans and enforcing a norm that no one else seems to believe in but doesn’t really fight. The tone also can’t make up its mind and shifts 180° about 35% through and I just.. don’t have the patience for this right now.
