I feel like this duology could have very well been one book with some more editing, but it was not bad. I enjoyed the first one more though.
The first half of this book felt like Divine Rivals just in different font with the typewriter scenes. Then it picked up but I wasn't too invested unfortunately. What I did enjoy, however, is that it did not wrap everything up in a pretty little bow in the end. It would have been unrealistic for a story like this.
I think it opened up the possibility for some other books in this universe as well, which I am not sure I will read when it comes to that, probably not. Regardless, these were nice and I'm glad I got around to listen to them because I found the plot quite unique.
