Listen... my all time favorite book trope has to be revenge. Give me ALL the revenge plots. And Butcher of the Bay part 2? It’s the ultimate revenge. The woman he loves has been taken and wronged, and Illi refuses to stop until he brings Odie all the men’s hearts in jars. Literally. Their love for each other is so strong, yet so sweet and I swoon at how much Illi loves her and would burn the world to ashes to protect her.
The other best part about this book? Illi’s relationship with Lips. I absolutely adored getting to see how their friendship really started (clearly it started and is rooted in violence and I love that). They are the definition of that chosen family, ride or die friendship and it is just SO GOOD.
