DNF, and so happy! I was reading this trilogy with my son, and even he was losing interest, and has decided we can stop ready these and switch to dragons and Wings of Fire, which I'm much more excited for.
The stakes are high enough, (real threat of death, emotional and physical damage, end of the world,) and the page count is long enough it looks like it's for maybe late elementary school to middle school readers. The page count is deceptive. My only complaint, but what made the first book and a half absolutely painful, is how much repetition there is.
Only tell me how the characters feel once per PAGE even, and this 300 page book could have been under 100.
