Despite this story being inspired by the same historical era as was "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek", I disagree with the accusation of plagiarism. I found the 2 stories to be quite different from each other, with Moyes producing a more engaging and emotional tale.
As a novelist myself, I firmly believe that multiple authors can write about a common time period or historical event without "stealing" each others' ideas. Read both excellent books and decide for yourself.
