I rarely ever read age-gap stories but whenever I did it's usually with the man being older. I took a chance and read this one and didn't regret it. This was Stephanie (Lacy's mom) book and I really liked her. She was grounded, sweet, kind, self-aware but had self esteem issues due to her friends. At 38, she hadn't dated since her husband was killed in a car accident, so she'd been alone for more than 10 yrs. I wanted good things for her.
Anthony was 18 and just graduated high school when he offered his services as a yardboy for the summer before starting college. He pursued Stephanie with a single mindedness and intensity that swept her off her feet. I loved his confidence and how he didn't give a shit what anyone thought of their relationship. The first scene with his twin brother was hot unlike the second one where it felt like Anthony was pressuring both Aiden and Stephanie into something they didn't want. Luckily Aiden called him out on it and Anthony admitted he was an asshole. I was starting to feel a bad for Damien until his final act then he was dead to me. I found the epilogue cute but I'm struggling to find the right reading order for this series.
