Adelaide by Genevieve Wheeler

4.0

“Adelaide the girl who felt everything- had to remind herself that it was, in fact, okay to feel. That it was okay to fill her lungs with air, her tank with fuel, her brain with the chemicals it needed. It was okay to go to hell and back, to carry every ounce of light and darkness inside of her. It was okay to love herself fiercely, a little selfishly, and with intention.
It was all okay.”

Wow wow wow. This book was beautiful and heavy and deep and raw and honest. This book reads similarly to a memoir in that it feels so so real, with that it definitely has some content warnings to be aware of (ie sexual abuse, depression, narcissistic abuse/ toxic relationships, suicide/suicidal ideation, miscarriage, etc). I related to several of the tragic experiences outlined in this book and many things spoke deeply to me, but in the end, the feeling it left me with is hope for a better future 💛
