This was a good read. It was short, and it was really good to read it knowing the plot of the film. It’s one of my favourite films, again it’s a forbidden romance and it’s the trope that will always interest me the most. (The forbidden romance I like is the kind where two people are so obsessed with each other and are literally made for each other however there is something stopping them being together, I am not interested in forbidden romance like age gaps or anything dodgy like Credence 😭cus I think that’s what people automatically assume with the trope lol)

I think the trope resonates because it’s what I have always suffered with the most myself. It’s part of my healing. In a way I wanted to read this book right now to teach me certain things and make me question things or provoke certain thoughts and growth.
I’ve added so many tabs to bits I either find really poetic or just damn cute or idk seeing both of them obsesses with each other, inside and out is always what I love most. Bits I’d love to look back at really and remember what romance is like lol.

If you’re talking writing wise it’s interesting to see the differences in the way the book is written vs the film. I prefer the film for the flashback scenes of them young in the 1940s that are written in literally one small paragraph Lmaoo. They did an amazing job adapting the depth of the book into film. I still like the film more but reading the notebook was a good experience. I did like the book, Sparks does write some amazing poetic and beautiful words especially when being so heartfelt with certain characters in their dialogue feelin so real and romantic, however in certain scenes I find his writing to be a bit long and idk too descriptive maybe when he’s writing settings or describing moments. I don’t see myself reading any of his other books though, I just have an interest in the notebook specifically I think.

Noah is one of the best MMC just husband material af, of course lol. Allie feels like a bit of me in a way, even if she is more confident than me etc. I see myself in her for certain things. In the way she is an artist, the way she always has to make the hardest decisions in her life :( and being brave

Most of this will not make sense for anyone else but myself without the context I have in my head Lmaoo😂. This is more like a reading journal for me ig. 🤫
