Plastic: A Toxic Love Story by Susan Freinkel

4.0

A thorough deep dive into plastics - the history of how our dependence on plastic started, the good and the bad of the industry, and how it impacts our planet. The story is told by focusing on 8 common household items, which keeps the narrative interesting. While there are a lot of unknowns in areas that haven’t been studied, and I’m curious what would be different in this book if it were written right now, I feel better educated on the subject of plastic. As someone who already tries to avoid single use plastic whenever possible, I don’t think this will change my behavior but it could be eye opening for people who have less of a lifestyle focused on waste reduction
